Nick O’Gwin is the founding principal of O'Gwin Planning. In 2005 Ameriprise Financial recruited him as a financial advisor, and there Nick quickly grew his practice, and being named an Advisor Coach. In 2007 he was promoted to manager of a team of advisors at the Ameriprise Financial office in Columbia, Maryland, before transferring to Gaithersburg, MD to manage a team of advisors there.
Nick stepped down from his management role in 2009 to focus on his clients, his wife, Nancy, and their newborn daughter Alexandra. In 2011, Nick and Nancy welcomed their second daughter Sydney, and Nick left Ameriprise Financial to launch his own independent financial services firm: O'Gwin Planning.
Nick graduated from Hood College (Frederick, Maryland) with a B.A. in Management, a concentration in Finance, and a minor in Global Economy. He completed Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards CFP® certification requirements, becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner.
Before joining O’Gwin Planning, LLC Amanda pursued her MBA degree in Hood College with accounting and Finance as her concentration. Amanda used to work in ITT (Shenzhen) as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist after she earned her Master Degree of Chemical Engineering in China. After Six months’ outstanding performance she was promoted as department supervisor. In 2009, Amanda was given an opportunity to come to United States. She decided to shed all achievements she already received and took this challenge as a new beginning. After several years study, she is glad to be part of O’Gwin Planning, LLC. and have a chance to serve all current and prospective clients.
